Chants and Invocations (Nine Lines Each)
For The God of Sorcery
Wise and deceptive God,
Whose tongue is like a serpent's
Whose hide is like a wolf
Savage hunter of the woodlands, killing evil spirits
Whose eyes are black like the ravens
Turnskin God, teacher of craft-sorcery to man
Speak in spirit to our mystics
And make them powerful in your cunning
Watch us from the boundaries of our world.
For the Phallic Father God
Mighty spirit swollen with manly strength
Bearing the horns of the ox
The life of the phallus-serpent
The swiftness of the head stag
Good God red and loud with thunder
Let your spirit take the high seat here
God of fertile fields and herds
Of the shouts and thrusts of battle
Father of man and beast, take your seat here.
For the Sun Daughter
Sun Daughter, Brilliant power of the Mother
warming the entire world,
Sending the white light of life,
Sending the red light of life,
The spirits of darkness flee under your eyes,
Under your white eyes, your red eyes.
You see all things and circle the land with gold;
You make the power of life rise from earth.
You are honored first among the three fires of life.
[take your seat here]
For the Moon Daughter
Moon Daughter, Light of the Dead,
Wise Sorceress of the night sky
You are the deadly huntress of wildlands
You are the all-seeing eye of your mother
You are the power of your mother and friend to wolves
You give us guidance in the darkness
You are the hope of the dead, the phantom lurker
Power of women, pale faced, red faced
Curved your horns like the sacred bull, and wise.
[take your seat here]
For the Stars
Stars that glow distant in the dark wheel of the sky
The spirits of the most sacred beings
Heroes, ancestors, chief among the wise of long ago
Your spirits are perpetual and free
Beyond you is the great whiteness of the otherworld
See us and hear us and share your gifts
Rise and set, ancestors, gaze down with power and see us
Rise and set, lights that shine over the ancient land
Stars that fill night, give us guidance and protection.
