Welcome to The Circle of the White Stag

* * *
We have swum the eddying flood
To yonder bank where the Elf Queen stood
"O welcome, children of mould! Come home to me,
I've brewed the mead and wine for ye."
An Carow Gwyn is not simply a book about sorcery and ancient beliefs. It is a call to arms, a call to a new life-way; it is the philosophical backbone intended to support the creation of an alternative culture devoted to the True Old Ways. What began in An Carow Gwyn is now joined by extensive supporting writings done over the years since its publication, including essays on worldview transformation and rebuilding, deep spirituality, and devotion.

Together, these writings form the core of the work Annwn: A Book of the True Old Ways, and it is joined by the many men and women from around the world who have created a living, breathing community in the Circle of the White Stag.

The Circle of the White Stag was created to gather together those who read these writings and desired to devote themselves further to the way of Fayerie Traditionalism. But the Circle stands upon the ground of a more profound shared vision. A conceptual and spiritual land called Dywenys (which means descending, or going into the depths) has been born in the devotions of these folk, and now embodies the regeneration of this strain of primordial spirit-relating in our breathing world.

The need for meaningful and supportive community is real and natural to human beings. The Circle of the White Stag is here to help its members co-create one another in braver, healthier, and better ways, alongside co-creating respectful and needful layers of relationship that all yearn for with the powers of the Otherworld. This alternative culture is a radical departure from the toxic political morass that is the modern world impasse. This is an open community of people who are ready to listen to the Ancestral voices that have been ignored by our dying culture, and give respect to the other-than-human voices that were silenced or forgotten long ago.

All who are familiar with the metaphysics and Fayerie Faith-related perspectives in An Carow Gwyn are welcome at the White Stag forum and within this shared space. Any who desire to actualize the sorcerous methods and workings given in that book, or to more fully and authentically engage the spiritual-ecological worldview expressed in those pages, will find great company and conversation.

For those who wish to take the Way of Fayerie Traditionalism one step further, and thoroughly devote their lives to the pursuit of its mysteries and relationships and to the alternative culture being grown in the name of the True Old Ways, a pledge can be taken which will lead to the bestowal of a name (discovered through an in-depth process of divination done by others) upon the man or woman making the Oath of the Fayerie Faithful.

The men and women of the Circle, and the Oath-Taken Fayerie Faithful together make up the membership of the Circle of the White Stag. Membership in the Circle of the White Stag requires a due of $3 a month, or $36 a year; half of that ($18) is paid on May 1st of each year, and the other half is paid on November 1st.

For this twice-yearly Tithe to Dywenys, each member will receive the biennial Journal- The Vision of the White Stag- detailing devotional activities, Fayerie and spiritual ecology-related folklore from both sides of the Atlantic ocean, interviews, ritual and devotional works to the Unseen Powers, and news from the Besaw Dywenys (the council that organizes events and charts future plans for the Circle of the White Stag). They will also be able to purchase the hardcover book ANNWN: A Book of the True Old Ways, the ultimate published statement of our deep identity and guide to our spiritual lifeway.

All members will be given access to the Circle of the White Stag's online forum and resources, and all will be invited to Circle events when they are held. The dues collected are all put towards supporting the creation of further community-enriching materials, for holding events for the members as soon as they are possible, and for other needs that will enhance the membership's experience of interacting with one another online and off.

Ultimately, the goal of The Circle of the White Stag is to create shared space for fellowship, meaningful alliances and friendship with others of like-mind who love the Old Ways, and to transform our shared world with spiritual-ecological insight and tangible practices of reverence towards Nature, the natural world, the spirits of our Ancestors, and the timeless powers that gave birth to them.
